Project Background

The Municipality of Anchorage is working to create a comprehensive strategy called the Historic Preservation Plan to preserve buildings, structures, sites, objects, stories, districts, and landscapes that form Anchorage’s culture and history.

Project Purpose

The adoption of the Historic Preservation Plan will assist the Historic Preservation Commission in its mission to encourage and further the interests of historic preservation by identifying, protecting, and interpreting the Municipality’s significant historic and cultural resources for the economic and social benefit of the community.
